ELIZABETH, N.J. (CBSNewYork) — A toddler
It happened just after 10 a.m. at Rahway Avenue and Chilton Street in Elizabeth.
The grandmother was crossing the street with her 3-year-old granddaughter in her arms and her 4-year-old grandson by her side when the U.S. postal truck turned the corner and hit them, 1010 WINS’ Rebecca Granet reported.
A witness, named Andres, said the girl was thrown from her grandmother’s arms by the impact.

The girl was pronounced dead at Trinitas Hospital
The boy and his grandmother were taken to University
The truck driver was not injured and is cooperating with the investigation, police said.
CBS2 initially reported that the truck and a motorcycle collided before the pedestrians were hit.
