PATERSON — Three people were taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries after a one-vehicle accident on Route 80 westbound, authorities said.

The vehicle, a white van registered in New York, struck a barrier in the fast lane and rolled over, landing in an upright position, said State Police Sgt. First Class Gregory Williams. The accident occurred at 11:33 a.m. at mile marker 59.7, he said. He said that it appears the driver lost control of the vehicle but that the cause of the accident has not been determined and remains under investigation.

Two westbound lanes were closed for an hour, causing delays before they were reopened at 12:33 p.m., Williams said. The three people in the van were taken to St. Joseph’s Medical Center, with one person complaining of chest pains and another having a laceration on an arm. He said he had no further information about their conditions.
