Teen Hit By Lakehurst Woman’s Car While Crossing For School Bus: Police

Submitted by New Jersey School Bus Crash Lawyer, Jeffrey Hark.

JACKSON, NJ — A Jackson Township teenager suffered minor injuries Tuesday morning when he was hit crossing a road to get to a school bus, Jackson police said.

Police were called to Brewers Bridge Road in the area of Buckingham Drive at 6:52 a.m. about the accident, Capt. Steven Laskiewicz said.

The teen, who was not identified, was taken by ambulance to a local hospital as a precaution, he said.

Laskiewicz said the preliminary police investigation found the teen stepped into Brewers Bridge Road before the bus had come to a stop and activated its red flashing lights. He was hit by a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix driven by a 57-year-old Lakehurst woman, who immediately stopped and was fully cooperative with the investigating officers, Laskiewicz said.

The incident is still currently under investigation by Police Officers Trevor Crowley and Brad Reider of the department’s Traffic Safety Unit, he said.
