Seven injured in Lacey crash

Submitted by New Jersey Truck Crash Lawyer, Jeffrey Hark.
New Jersey Truck CrashLACEY — A three-car crash injured seven people Saturday – some of them seriously – after an eastbound Toyota pickup truck crossed into the westbound lanes of Lacey Road before 8:30 p.m. and collided with two vehicles, police said.

Theodore Diebold, 55, of the Forked River section of Lacey was driving the Toyota east when it crossed into the westbound lane and collided with a westbound Chevrolet pickup truck, which then overturned multiple times and landed in the woods, police said in a news release.

The Toyota continued moving east in the westbound lane and collided head-on with a Saturn Vue that was driven by Lynael Matthews, 38, of Audubon, according to police.

Diebold was alone in the Toyota and suffered serious injuries, authorities said. He was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune for treatment.

The Chevrolet’s driver – Douglas Adams, 43, of Marlton – and his three passengers were taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center with what police said were minor injuries.

Matthews had one passenger in the Saturn, and both people were taken to the Neptune hospital for treatment of serious injuries, according to Lacey law enforcement officials.

Police said Diebold was driving with a suspended New Jersey driver’s license. Authorities did not immediately say Sunday if charges had been filed.

Lacey Township Police investigated along with the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department. Fire companies from Bamber Lake and Forked River responded to the scene, as well as first aid squads from Lacey, Toms River, Waretown, Berkeley and MONOC paramedics.
