PEMBERTON TOWNSHIP — A 52-year-old Manahawkin man died after his vehicle crashed into a dump truck on Route 70 early Thursday morning.
Police said David J. Turi was driving a 2011 Ford E250 utility van on Lakehurst Road in the township at about 6:45 a.m. when he attempted to turn onto Route 70’s eastbound lanes and crossed into the path of a dump truck also headed east.
The two vehicles collided, and Turi, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene.
No charges or summons have been filed in connection with the crash, which remains under investigation. Pemberton police ask anyone with information about the crash to contact them at 609-894-3308 or call their confidential tip line at 609-894-3352.
