Lindenwold Man Charged With Sexual Assault and Manufacturing Child Pornography – March 8, 2018

Mikael Carter, an 18-year-old Lindenwold resident, has been charged with Luring a Minor to Commit Sexual Assault and Sexual Assault according to the Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colallilo and Lindenwold Police Chief Thomas Brennan.

He was also charged with Manufacturing Child Pornography, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and Possession of Child Pornography.

Carter had allegedly been soliciting nude photographs of minors over social media, promising them a modeling career.  He lured one victim to an apartment in Lindenwold where he sexually assaulted her.

Mikael Carter was charged on March 6, 2018 after Detectives from the High-Tech Crimes Unit (HTCU) and Special Victims Unit (SVU) of the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office executed a search warrant at his residence on Chestnut Avenue in Lindenwold.

Mikael Carter was remanded to the Camden County Correctional Facility pending a pretrial detention hearing.  Under Criminal Justice Reform rules, the court may order he be detained or released with conditions.

The Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Detectives were assisted by members of the Department of Homeland Security Investigations – Cherry Hill Office, Lindenwold Police Department and the Camden County Sheriff’s Emergency Response Team (SERT).
