MIDDLETOWN – One person is dead after a Nissan Pathfinder overturned on the Garden State Parkway Thursday morning.
The car rolled around mile marker 111.9, state police said. They first received reports at 10:51 a.m.
The identity of the victim was not immediately available, Trooper Alejandro Goez said.
The right and center southbound local lanes were closed as state police investigated, Goez said.
Goez said later in the day that authorities had cleared the center lane shortly after 2 p.m. but that the right lane was still closed.
New Jersey State Police’s fatal accident and crime scene units responded, as did township firefighters and medics, Goez said.
