Dump Truck Strikes Overpass on Rt. 42

A crash on Route 42 in Bellmawr, New Jersey caused massive backup Tuesday night.
A dump truck struck an overpass on Route 42 southbound at milemarker 14.2 shortly after 3:20 p.m. The driver was injured in the crash and taken to Cooper University Hospital. Officials have not yet revealed his or her condition.
Engineers were called to the scene to inspect the bridge and two right southbound lanes were closed for several hours, leading to heavy traffic. The lanes were later reopened Tuesday night.
