Crews Rescue Driver Trapped by Dumped Stones on New Jersey Roadway

Submitted by New Jersey Dump Truck Crash Lawyer, Jeffrey Hark.

Police in New Jersey found a driver pinned under a load of stone Monday afternoon so emergency crews worked to free the woman stuck behind the wheel. Manchester Township police released photos of the wreck that left three people with non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash around 3:28 p.m. Monday left Route 539 at Harry Wright Boulevard in Whiting closed for hours, Manchester Township police said.

The 2016 Kenworth T80 tri-axle dump truck, loaded with stones, struck the driver’s side of a 2008 Nissan Altima attempting to turn left. Authorities say the dump truck was hauling tons of stones which flipped onto the woman’s car. A passenger in the Nissan managed to get out on her own but the 24-year-old woman was trapped.

“The only thing you could see was gravel,” Manchester Township Police Patrolman Ian Bole said. “The roof had collapsed and so did the windshield so all the stones had seeped through.
