Emergency crews were called to respond to a school bus accident in Gloucester Township, N.J. shortly after 8 a.m. Friday morning.
Medic units were on the scene, and CBS3 says some injuries have been reported. According to NJ.com, students were taken off the bus on stretchers after a blue Hyundai Tucson apparently collided with the bus. “The cause of the accident remains unclear,” wrote NJ.com’s Greg Adomaitis. “At least two students required back braces as a result. Others were transported to Kennedy University Hospital or strapped to stretchers after being taken off the bus.”
At least 20 students remained on the bus about 40 minutes after the crash took place, according to the site, while some of those who sustained injuries were transported to Kennedy University Hospital.
Gloucester Township Police Department Sgt. Bryan Bonawitz told NJ.com that any injuries to students aboard the bus appeared to be minor.
The bus, which was hit at Sicklerville Road and Bryce’s Court, was headed to Ann A. Mullen Middle School, about a mile and a half from the site of the accident.
